Item Словацька політика в Першій світовій війні(2016) Кірсенко, МихайлоThe article regards development of Slovak concepts and politics from their 19th century mentality of a marginal stateless ethnic minority within the Kingdom of Hungary (historical St. Steven Crown Lands) to the newly established Czechoslovak Republic co-founders within the context of large-scale national self-determination and emancipation in East-Central Europe during the Great War of 1914-1918. A comparative analysis focuses on the discriminative administrative system of multinational Hungary and a relatively tolerant "Kingdoms and Lands represented in the Imperial Counsel," their governments, parliaments, diets, parties, press, persecution. As more immediate research objects, there have been mentioned the emigrants ’ organizations in America, ambitious National Counsels with their foreign orientation, propaganda, intelligence, Czechoslovak legions in Ukraine and elsewhere, the U.S. and Entente diplomacy motivation, public opinion trends, relations between the chief domestic policy makers and anti-Habsburg resistance abroad, independence declarations and international recognition, strategic borders, prominent personalities, backgrounds to and perspectives for future radical changes in the next decades till late 20th century.
