Sociological research of the society members' attitudes towards the traits of the human personality give the possibility to make some inferences about the set of values which are cultivated in the particular society. The article presents algorithm of construction of the nominal scale of the value-positive personality traits as an instrument for the sociological research of the value orientations towards personality traits. The issue of topicality of the above research from the point of view of the last tendencies in the development of the sociological theory is also considered in the article.
