The authors of this article aim to clarify the specifics of the State-Society conflict, which reached its peak during the events of 2013–2014, to determine the essence of the Ukrainian events of the last decade along the axis of the State-Society conflict in the context of further modernization of Ukraine.To do this, it is proposed to analyse the dynamics of changes in geopolitical, socio-economic and political contexts; to investigate the peculiarities of the development of the confrontation in the border territories, which were of key importance in the process of transformation of the confrontation from the beginning to an armed conflict; through the prism of sociological research, to reveal the dynamics of relations between the State and Society during the last ten years and to find out their real state.
