    14С дати та абсолютна хронологія Кукутені-Трипілля: що і як насправді ми датуємо?

    В останнє десятиліття дат для Кукутень-Трипілля отримано на порядок більше, ніж за попередні 50 років. Однак картина, отримана з використанням новітніх AMS дат помітно відрізняється від створеної раніше. Як наслідок, почалися розмови про "кризу традиційної періодизації" Кукутень-Трипілля. Але перш, ніж говорити про кризу, можливо варто зрозуміти, що саме і як ми датуємо.

    "16 лет в СССР": спогади Фредеріка Леграна

    У статті запропоновано аналіз спогадів бельгійського робітника Фредеріка Леграна про Країну Рад міжвоєнного періоду. На прикладі цих споминів представлено основні характеристики, як «потрібно» було говорити «по-більшовицьки» та як «правильно» «пригадувати» минуле до 1917 року та радянську добу. Також встановлено основні маркери, які мала використовувати «нова» радянська людина, розповідаючи про свою участь у «соціалістичному будівництві».

    The 1917 Break and Its Aftermath: Ukrainian Academia’s Perception and Representation of the Revolutionary Events (2007–2017)

    The author of this review is not a student of the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917-1921 herself. My interest in Soviet history and Western historiography undoubtedly influenced my approach and the interpretation advanced in this article. This is an outsider’s review, the author of which has not aspired nor pretended to provide exhaustive coverage of the publications from the period. I certainly make no authoritative estimations, nor do I draw authoritative conclusions. Rather, I see my part just as Geoff Eley saw his when he participated in the discussion between Sovietologists of different generations on the pages of the Russian Review in 1986-1987. Having focused his own studies on Nazi history, he was able— as an outsider— to see the methodological limitations of the approaches applied by those who studied Soviet history as well as to provide broader perspectives on the challenges they faced and the research problems they raised.2 Therefore, when examining scholarly and public history publications from the decade between the two jubilee anniversaries of the 1917 revolutionary events, I will focus primarily on methodological and conceptual issues, which allows me to frame academic views on these events within a broader context of the study of the (Ukrainian) 20th century.

    70 років - початок доби зрілості

    У привітальному слові з нагоди 70-річчя Інституту філософії Марина Ткачук, декан факультету гуманітарних наук, наголосила на багаторічній співпраці Інституту філософії та НаУКМА. Зокрема, згадала про непересічну роль у відродженні Києво-Могилянської академії Вілена Сергійовича Горського, який залишив посаду в Інституті філософії і пішов створювати "з нуля" кафедру філософії та релігієзнавства в українському університеті нового, дерадянизованого зразка.

    Academic English Course Design for PhD Program: Principles and Content

    Academic Freedom as the Foundation of the Democratic Culture of the University in the European Education Area

    This paper examines academic freedom as a key condition for shaping the democratic culture of the university within the European educational area. Its significance is defined as a principle that ensures the autonomy, integrity, and accountability of universities to society. The provisions of the Magna Charta Universitatum and the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education” are analysed with regard to the harmonization of European and national approaches to academic freedom. It is emphasized that the democratic culture of the university is built upon a combination of freedom and responsibility, ethical standards, and the active participation of the academic community in governance. It is noted that for Ukraine, the development of a culture of trust and partnership is particularly relevant as a prerequisite for effective university autonomy.

    Academic Writing : навчально-методичний посібник з англійської мови для студентів НаУКМА

    Навчально-методичний посібник відповідає навчальному плану підготовки бакалаврів, що навчаються за спеціальністю "Філологія. Германські мови та література (переклад включно, перша - англійська)" і допомагає засвоєнню фахових дисциплін. Даний посібник орієнтований на розвиток спеціалізованих мовних навичок, вмінь фахового спілкування та вироблення комунікативної компетенції студентів на рівні, що умовно називається “вищесереднього” (“upper - intermediate”, В2). У процесі підготовки навчально-методичного посібника застосовано комунікативний підхід до навчання. У посібнику також подано ряд практичних завдань (відповідно до навчальної плану та робочої програми), спрямованих на вивчення англомовного академічного письма як різновиду наукового (академічного) спілкування. У практичних завданнях запроповано проблемні питання, що передбачають розвиток навичок критичного мислення, а також завдання, виконання яких допоможе студентам сформувати вміння й практичні навички комунікативно виправдано користуватися засобами мови для створення відповідних зразків академічного письма. Окремий акцент зроблено на організації й редагуванні власних академічних текстів та розумінні основних відмінностей між основними функціональними стилями.

    Курс "Академічне письмо" відповідає навчальному плану підготовки бакалаврів, що навчаються за спеціальністю "Філологія. Германські мови та література (переклад включно, перша - англійська)" і допомагає засвоєнню фахових дисциплін. Даний курс орієнтований на розвиток спеціалізованих мовних навичок, вмінь фахового спілкування та вироблення комунікативної компетенції студентів на рівні, що умовно називається “вищесереднього” (“upper - intermediate”, В2). У процесі підготовки навчально-методичного посібника застосовано комунікативний підхід до навчання. Курс спрямовано на вивчення англомовного академічного письма як різновиду наукового (академічного) спілкування. На практичних заняттях обговорюються проблемні питання, що передбачають розвиток навичок критичного мислення, а також виконуються завдання, виконання яких допоможе студентам сформувати вміння й практичні навички комунікативно виправдано користуватися засобами мови для створення відповідних зразків академічного письма. Окремий акцент зроблено на організації й редагуванні власних академічних текстів та розумінні основних відмінностей між основними функціональними стилями.

    Accession of Southern Bessarabia to the Ukrainian SSR in the documents of the Soviet secret services

    Based on the archival documents and materials, the article examines the activities of Soviet state security authorities in Southern Bessarabia (since the annexation of the Cahul-Izmail-Bolhrad strip to the Ukrainian SSR), aimed at building a Soviet-style political system in the region, combating "anti-Soviet manifestations and anti-Soviet elements" and aiming at the repressions of various categories of citizens, including the Orthodox clergy. The paper focuses on the functioning of special groups staffed by the officers from various departments of the People’s Commissariat of Internal Affairs of the USSR, that conducted activities in the towns of Northern Bukovina and Bessarabia. Based on the documents of the Soviet secret services, the socio-political and economic situation in Akkerman and Izmail counties in the second half of 1940 is depicted, as well as the peculiarities of the Bessarabian Germans’ repatriation to Germany or the reaction of the population of the Ukrainian SSR to the adoption of the Law "On the Inclusion of the Northern Part of Bukovina and Khotyn, Akkerman and Izmail Counties of Bessarabia into the Ukrainian SSR" by the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.

    Acknowledgement of the challenges in constructing different types of discours

    Effective communication involves constructing different types of discourse in various contexts. However, this process poses unique challenges, understanding which is essential for improving communication skills, writing strategies, and discourse analysis. This research problem focuses on exploring the challenges that individuals encounter when constructing the main types of discourse by identifying the specific linguistic, cognitive, and socio-cultural factors that contribute to these challenges. The goal of this research is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the challenges involved in constructing the basic types of discourse. By examining the difficulties associated with such types of writing as narrative, descriptive, process, instructional, expository, reasoning, and persuasive, this study aims to identify specific linguistic, cognitive, and socio-cultural factors that contribute to these challenges. Through the analysis of these factors, the research will provide insights that can facilitate the development of strategies, interventions, and resources to support individuals in improving their discourse construction skills. The aim of this research can be achieved through mixed methods, such as (i) collecting quantitative data (surveys and assessments) to measure the individuals’ difficulties in constructing the target types of writing; (ii) collecting qualitative data (interviews and focus group discussions) to gain insights into the linguistic, cognitive, and socio-cultural factors influencing these challenges; (iii) analysing obtained statistical and qualitative data.
