dc.descriptionUkraine opens a new chapter of bilateral contractual relations with the EU. The EU-Ukraine Partnership and Cooperation Agreement is outdated and expired. It does not reflect new realities of relations between the Parties. In 2007 Ukraine and the EU launched negotiations on new association agreement which will set up a new corner stone of enhanced political and deep cooperation between the EU and Ukraine. The objective to obtain formal membership in the EU remains a key task of the Ukrainian foreign policy. However neither the EU Institutions nor the EU Member States are willing to express their acceptance of this idea. In this regard it is important to study what forms of close economic and political integration with the EU without formal membership could be useful for Ukraine. The article looks at the European Economic Area (EEA) Agreement. In particular it studies homogeneity as legal and political tool to ensure homogeneous legal environment between the EU and parties to the EEA Agreement. The article endeavours to highlight most significant objectives and provisions of the EEA Agreement which could be applied in the future EU-Ukraine association agreement.ru_RU
