Abstract
Мета статті: Дослідили роль Антіохійськоі школи патристики
в дебатах поміж старообрядцями та новообрядцями. Методи
дослідження: шляхом компаративного аналізу джерел та вивчення
історії традиції простежено зв’язок обрядових дискусій XVII—
XVIII ст. із антіохійською христологією IV—V ст. Основні одержані
висновки: богословський вимір церковного ро ст. визначався,
насамперед, множинними інтерпретаціями спадщини грекомовних
сирійських Отців Церкви. Цю спадщину антіохійських богословів кожна
сторона вільно тлумачила у своїх злободенних цілях: антіохійські Отці
поставали то захисниками двоперстя, то апологетами триперстя,
хоча їх тексти однозначно свідчать, що самі вони хрестилися одним
перстом. Той факт, що в якості останньої інстанції тлумачення Никон
залучав сучасного Антіохійського патріарха, засвідчує уявлення слов’ян
про тяглість Антіохійськоі школи, яку вони не обмежували жодними
хронологічними рамками.
Objective: the purpose o f the paper is study of a role of the Antiochian School of Patristics in the debate between Old Believers andNew Believers. Methods of research: through the comparative analysis of sources and the study of the history of tradition, the connection of 17th—18th—century debates on ritual with 4th —5th—century Antiochian Christology was traced. Conclusion: the theological dimension of the 17th—century church schism was mainly determined by the multiple interpretations of the heritage of the Greek-speaking Syrian Fathers of the Church. This heritage of Antiochian theologians was freely interpreted by each side for its topical purposes: the Antiochian Fathers appeared to be either defenders of the signing the cross with twofingers, or apologists of signing the cross with threefngers although their texts unambiguously testify that they themselves used to cross themselves with one finger. The fact that, Nichon appealed to the modern Patriarch of Antioch as the definitive source of interpretation in thisfield, testify to the Slavonic idea of the continuity of the Antiochian school, which they did not restrict in any chronologicalframework.
