У роботі розглядається агентна модель виникнення та розвитку мови – Еволюційна Гра в Іменування (ЕГІ) [1-3]. Модель представлена популяцією агентів, розміщених у двовимірній квадратній сітці з довжиною сторони L.
Description
Agent-based modelling is the principal method for studying natural language emergence and evolution due to the extreme complexity of the process. Lipowskis’ Evolutionary Naming Game model lacks statistically-based studies on its reproducibility and sensitivity to parameter variations. Our research aims to analyse the effect of the model parameters on its dynamics and to verify the reproducibility of known results. We implemented the Evolutionary Naming Game model and conducted a series of experiments described by Lipowskis. Our experimental analysis confirmed the reproducibility of main behavioural patterns and demonstrated the model general robustness to parameter variations, although some mismatches in numerical values were observed. The statement suggesting a correlation between agents' languages and their learning abilities was refuted.
