| dc.description.abstract | The article attempts to systematize different linguistic approaches to riddle studies and explore aspects of modern research to distinguish this folklore genre. Special attention is paid to cognitive-semiotic and discursive features of riddles as those occupying a leading position in modern linguistic studies.
